B) It's still very likely that this is an issue on your system, not wine. No one else has reported a similar bug (not that it's impossible, but again, unlikely). I'd suggest trying an older version of wine and see if the issue occurs there. If not, you could run a regression test (https://wiki.winehq.org/Regression_Testing) to see what in wine caused the problem. This isn't a wine bug, the game expect the CD to be in the drive, and since you're using an ISO, the check fails.
