[Bug 55818] Dark Age of Camelot runs out of address space

by WineHQ Bugzilla

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55818 --- Comment #38 from Tom M <tmwine(a)pertho.net> --- Doing some more testing on Debian 11 (bullseye) Installed the wine-staging package which is 9.0-rc3. Runs really smoothly and right now game is at 2.9 GB VmSize and isn't increasing. This is with Mesa 20.3.5. Which seems to be stable and not leaky. I keep seeing this message: MESA-INTEL: warning: Performance support disabled, consider sysctl dev.i915.perf_stream_paranoid=0 Another odd thing is, WINE used to spawn my default browser when it wanted to open web links (it would open firefox in Linux).. doesn't seem to be doing that any more. Is there a fix for that? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

by WineHQ Bugzilla

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55818 --- Comment #36 from Tom M <tmwine(a)pertho.net> --- Tested on this: VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 620 (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) WINE 5.0 Mesa 20.3.5 Fired up the game. It starts out with VmSize 1.54 GB, goes up to 2.3-2.4 GB most of the time. Peak is about 3.5-3.6 but it never hits 4.0 to crash which is good Don't suppose there's a debian source pkg for 8.21 or 9.0? This came with 5.0 on it.. (Debian 11 which is "old stable".. Debian 12 has a bad Mesa version which is why I went back to 11) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I have no idea why you can reproduce it consistently and I can't, but this should hopefully fix it? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 55818] Dark Age of Camelot runs out of address space

by WineHQ Bugzilla

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55818 --- Comment #35 from Zeb Figura <z.figura12(a)gmail.com> --- (In reply to Tom M from comment #33) > https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/8734 That would imply we're leaking shaders, I think, but if that were the case we'd see a corresponding leak on the Wine side as well, and I explicitly didn't. (In reply to Tom M from comment #34) > https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/6013 That I believe only affects the Xorg server process. I think the most likely explanation is that the base memory usage is higher. It's certainly possible there's also a Mesa memory leak on top of the application's memory leak, but I'm not sure it's the most likely explanation. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 56114] winecfg allows a cdrom drive path to be inside of the WINEPREFIX

by WineHQ Bugzilla

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56114 --- Comment #9 from Olivier F. R. Dierick <o.dierick(a)piezo-forte.be> --- Hello, (In reply to Cedric from comment #8) > If people shouldn't need to edit drives manually, why give them the option > to do so in the first place? He said "shouldn't need to", not "must not". Some cases require people to edit drives manually (when setting a drive from a normal directory). > Following that logic, the proper fix would be > to remove the browser entirely, and to make the manual field read-only. That won't be a proper fix due to what I said above. Please, stop pretending to follow other people's logic, when you actually just made-up that broken logic on purpose to make a valid point. I despise willful misinterpretation. Regards. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
