Relevant Zig pull request is #17541, which implements handling of "\??\" prefixed paths[2]. Zig programs will fail to produce back traces under wine, as can be seen in a separate Zig pull request #22492[3]. The Zig compiler itself will also fail to run under wine, as it depends on GetFinalPathNameByHandle to locate the zig.exe (which it then uses to find it's "lib" directory)[4]. However, the Zig compiler also relies on some unimplemented functionality in NtLockFile, so solving this issue would not be enough to run the Zig compiler on wine. I observed a very slight increase in VSIZE/RSIZE (about 100 MB). However, I also used mame from the Debian repository (version 0.270+dfsg.1-1), and I didn't use any ROM file as I was unsure of where to find legal ones. Does this still occur with current Wine? Switching between stations on the pip boy a few times can get it to start playing. When building Wine using the new WoW64 mode, the game has visual artifacts in the character creation screen, and freezes when trying to start a new game. When building Wine with the old WoW64, the game works correctly. The first game, based on the same engine, works correctly with both versions of WoW64. Tested on: * Arch Linux x86_64, Kernel 6.12 * AMD Radeon RX6900XT with Mesa 24.3.3 * KDE Plasma on Wayland (wine is running with the x11 backend) I'm attaching screenshots of Wine 10.0-rc5.
