Sometimes, not always, when I close a window in Exact Audio Copy (which I hereafter will refer to as EAC) EAC throws an error message to me with the title "Unhandled Exception" and body "at EACWnd2.264 -> INDEX-RANGE. Most recently this occurred after I had finished ripping a CD and pressed OK on the window where it shows you how well the ripping went. This error message appeared very shortly after said window had closed. After closing the error box by clicking "ok", EAC freezes, and moments after closes. Running under actual 64-bit Windows is okay too. The problem seems to be caused by application logic which calls VirtualAlloc() repeatedly in order to (presumably) find out the maximum available amount of memory that the application is able to allocate. I am using Wine from GloriousEggroll's Proton version 9.10. Playing L.A. Noire (Rockstar Games game) with V-Patch modification. When the game launches, a message box with "getdfDIJoystick" appears. Clicking OK makes the game launch as normal. I don't know what this is for, but I believe a dummy "getdfDIJoystick" could be implemented so it "passes" the check. This only happens via Wine/Proton, and does not happen in native Windows (according to other users). I don't have a Windows machine to test. I did not test this with "pure" Wine, but I believe this is a Wine issue rather than a Proton issue. I'll leave a screenshot attached. It stopped working a while ago. Tried to switch Operating System (XP, Win10, ...) but without success. This works in "real" windows (WinXP, Win7, Win10, Win11). See the stack trace for more information. This happens when I try to open a FTPS connection that is secured. FTP without encryption still works. I haven't tried SFTP, if that fails as well, as I do not have an FTP server supporting this. I tried to make pfx by openssl 1.0.1, also by microsoft windows built-in export-to- -pfx wizard. Also tried making pem-files, but got succesfull import only for public part of certificate. Also I tried making certificate request by windows CA and by Openssl, but still no luck. Also tried importpfx.exe -f certificate.p12 - p "1" -t USER -s MY. (With MACHINE parameter also) The output says that import suceeded. But i did not see any certificates in wine control. Importing of cer-files works. What am i doing wrong? When I use the built-in dsound, I have to choose between listening to music, or listen to ingame sfx (if I enable CD Audio, there's no ingame sfx). But there's no latency to the ingame sfx when it's enabled. What kind of logs are interesting here? However on Wine with dotnet472, the policy fails with error NotTimeValid. In this if statement, the policy verification routine determines that the certificate has expired, but it should ignore the error if `checks` contains `CERT_CHAIN_POLICY_IGNORE_NOT_TIME_VALID_FLAG`, and this logic is missing. This bug is about a crash / hang in the installer for the retail release of Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars when used with the recommended installation type. (The advanced installation type is unusable under Wine, see the original bug #53561.) After clicking on the next button on the installation type screen, installer appears to try and copy files. This is supposed to have a progress indicator that fills up, but it gets drawn in wine as completely full, with status "Copying new files". The UI has stopped updating and placing another window (Wine or from the host's WM) over it will cause graphical corruption. After about a minute on my machine, the UI window disappears entirely. The msiexec process however is still running in the background, and can be seen on the task bar if wine is running with a virtual desktop. It is also still visible in wine's taskmgr.exe. Where it shows two msiexec processes and one unnamed 32bit process. (Wine's taskmgr shows "*32" for the process name.) After this the process does not exit unless killed. Doing so kills both msiexec processes and the unnamed 32bit process. Looking through the registry after killing the installer, we find that it did create the needed registry keys expected by the game, in addition to installing the games files at the expected default location. The game does run in this state. So it appears that the installation was successful, despite the bug. Running the installer with WINEDEBUG="+msi" causes the installer to run correctly. I.e. It doesn't crash / hang indefinitely. Although, the UI still stops updating while the files are copied, it will recover in this case and allow the installer to run to completion. When comparing it with a proper windows environment, the installer checks for available packages before giving the user the opportunity to select which packages to install (in my case the defaults plus the MFC libraries and the Windows 8.1 SDK, so the goal is to get this stack installed for an linux based build server which has to compile the windows binaries). While this takes some time on windows, wine instantly switches to the next "finalizing" step, which causes the application to close shortly afterwards. I suspect the winsock error causing the installer to not find any downloadable packages, resulting in a proper finalizing and closing. If any specific additional logs are required, please tell me and i will add them here instantly. There is a problem with rundll32.exe that I was finally able to isolate after lot of trial and error. The problem is on Debian Bookworm that the rundll32.exe process that is started never reaches wWinMain (I put TRACE() at the beginning). I'm attaching the bad trace log from Bookworm and the good trace from Bullseye. A simple workaround for me now is to copy rundll32.exe from Bullseye. Any ideas what to try next?
