With the extension installed, if one tries to open an html email the call to the IErenderer.dll causes Pegasus to hard crash.. The Pegasus creates some temp files from the email message, and uses WPM$xxx.PM$ format for files. Was thinking perhaps in the passing of filename with $ inside them might cause issue since Linux treats the $ as marking a variable? With IERender extion it creates these two file 1110 05-16-2025 08:18 WPM$M1PL.PM$ 56167 05-16-2025 08:18 WPM$SXGZ.PM$ With extension uninstalled it creates these 3 files 1536 05-16-2025 08:15 STO30e6.tmp 1536 05-16-2025 08:15 STO30e7.tmp 56167 05-16-2025 08:15 WPM$Z65Z.PM$ Note both of the 56167 byte files are identical?? The purpose of extension is to better handle displaying html messages. Without it, some messages don't display as they should. One can then opt to open messages in a browser, and they will display fine, but then replying doesn't work. The crash only occurs when running under wine, as opposed to running in Windows. I found a workaround that seems to point to the problem. I found that if I clear the check-box for "Show Preview" in the file save dialog box, the file saves normally. Tri-tools.com has been very cooperative in offering help, rather than simply saying "We don't support Linux" as so many developers do when asked for help. Here is a paste of their latest response to information that I had given them: >> If a report file is generated, it will be stored in your Temp folder. My new (purchased in 2024) pc is having issues with this EC client in UO. Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF Nvidia RTX 4070 12G 64GB RAM I am playing with server latency of circa 212ms and when i move one tile, it pauses for a few seconds then repeat and rinse.. doesnt happen everywhere but it is generally unplayable. Tried Fedora, Zorin OS, Pop OS, Ubuntu, Debian, openSUSE and Linux Mint same outcom with Nvidia focus if applicablee. Wasnt using the noveau driver just proprietry and even tried the insatller directly from Nvidia and also mainline kernels to see if that made a difference but nope. The odd thing is that the Classic Client (CC) and chromium installer (CC too) versions work fine on new pc under linux desktop, just the EC seems to have the issues. I am back on Windows 11 and using EC and no issues what so ever, besides the random client crashes which i didnt get any this whole past year under Linux Desktop. Tried distro and winehq repos, various Proton options and wine staging too, lutris and cli with wine direclty to no avail.
