Bug One- Max For Live instruments don't work in Live 12 since the program freezes then fails to respond whenever max instruments boot up. Bug Two - Projects saved in previous versions of Live don't open within Live 12 since the program freezes then hangs whenever I try to open any sets saved in Live 11. Bug Three - The program fails to load the demo set that usually loads after the initial install. Bug Four - The new Same Search Analysis feature seems to crash without crashing the whole program since a message that says, "A serious program error has occurred. Live will shut down after this message box is closed. Only Mono, Stereo, Quadrophonic and 5.1 is available even though my system is set to 7.1 output in the host os configuration. Now, fitgirl repacks crashes at random progress, while rg-mechanics repacks are straight to the error, the same as always. I read that in the past this was fixed so that's a regression but since no-one has reported this and apparently no one has that problem, I'm filing this bug as normal. For the record: this bug happens since I installed linux, at the time Wine was at version 6.0. In my case, this repack is of a game that I legally own (Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon) but I've got a capped data plan and I have to install a repack then I'll be able to verify the game with Uplay. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. As I check the console output, I get *massive spam* of the following message: err:d3d:wined3d_debug_callback 0x8aea440: "GL_INVALID_OPERATION error generated. Query object not found.". It repeats over and over again until I need to kill the executable. The latest log file I saved, I counted that this error message was repeated over 18.3 MILLION times (yes, you read it right), making the log file itself almost 2GB at size. Only, and only this single message was repeated, nothing else. Console output before the spam was as showed in the attachment. I'm sorry I don't provide the full log, since it contains over 20 000 lines of text. If someone sees that important, please let me know. Basically, the lines showed in the attachment were repeated over and over again from the very beginning, until the massive spam of that 'GL_INVALID_OPERATION' error appeared just before the game were accessing in-game menu which contains DX11 graphics. Used configuration: Wine 2.4 git + Wine-staging-git, no dll overrides, clean 64-bit prefix. No CSMT or any other Staging related stuff enabled in winecfg. Reproduced with NVIDIA 535.43.22 and with nouveau/Mesa 23.3.3 as well. Not a regression, the problem is present with every Wine version I tried back until 1.9.11. To reproduce the problem with the early demo version + UIM.06 patch: 1. Install the demo version, link is in URL. Setting Win98 mode is advisable because the installer is from that era. Don't start the demo yet. 2. Install the UIM.06 patch over the demo: http://www.zedo.hardwar.info/HardwarUIM06.zip 3. Start Hardman.exe (launcher), select Display tab, enable '32 Bit Textures' option in Image Quality. The rest of the options here have no effect on the bug. 4. Go back to the 'Game' tab in the launcher, <Launch...>, <OK>, <Save>. The game should enter the main menu. 5. Enter a pilot name then select a job and voilà... you are in the cockpit with psychedelic textures everywhere. This setting is saved in the registry: `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Activision\Spider-Man (TM) SD\Settings\Display\AspectRatio` 1 for 4:3, 2 for 16:10, 3 for 16:9. ### What the game is supposed to do (first launch) On Windows and on Wine Wayland, when launching the game for the first time (that is, when the registry key doesn't exist), that key is `NtSetValueKey`ed to 4 (a value that seems intentionally invalid), then it is `NtSetValueKey`ed to the appropriate value. ### What happens instead on Wine X11 (first launch) On Wine X11 (or XWayland), `NtSetValueKey` for "AspectRatio" is only called once to set it to 4, and it stays as such. (Which makes the game 4:3.) That probably means that whatever the game needs to do before the second `NtSetValueKey` fails. #### Symptoms of the issue You may wonder: "Since the Aspect Ratio option is exposed in the in-game settings, can't you adjust them there?". However, due to the game being poorly coded, this issue may make the game stuck in an unsupported resolution, causing a chain reaction of issues that makes the game unable to change all graphics settings, and sometimes it even makes the game unable to render the title screen, crashing when starting a level. Manually editing the "AspectRatio" key after the first launch doesn't solve all issues: it may still be impossible to change all graphics settings. This probably means that the game depends on "getting" the display's aspect ratio even if the registry key is set. ### Logs I don't know what channels should the logs contain.
