Light Mount Silent Tactile) the USB-connection is reseted once every second while wine is running. output from journalctl: kernel: usb 7-1.1: reset full-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd This makes the keyboard unusable (for all applications not just wine) since key-events are not transmitted reliably anymore. At the moment the wine/windows-application is closed, the keyboard works fine again. There are some errors printed out from the hid-component (see atached stdout.txt). A standard windows text-box should open in the upper-left corner of the screen letting you input a new name for that object. This text window is hidden behind the game screen when it is opened thus it is inaccessible/not usable. Tried with virtual desktop mode and fullscreen: both have the same issue. Nothing obvious appears in the terminal. Last version when it worked: Wine-6.0. Bisecting revealed commit 4ce1d7f93a35322d149cbde29d619e2580159a80 was the culprit. Can't revert it on current Wine but the rename window appears properly with the previous commit. Steps to reproduce in RCT 2 demo: Start a new game with the left-most icon at the bottom, select either "Crazy Castle" or "Six Flags Belgium" scenario. Left-click on an object to open an information window, select the rename icon (looks like a brownish name-tag). A text-box is opened but it is placed behind the game screen. It is installed on small embedded PCs with AMD Geode LX processors at 500 MHz and 1 GB RAM and we have about 100 of these machines. After upgrading a test machine to newer Linux distributions and Wine 4.x the application crashes in its network functions. When booting the same hard drive via USB on a modern PC everything works, so the bug might be driver related. (But it works on the older kernel!) When attaching to the Windows process, the application crashes and Winedbg says "Can't attach to process ... Error 5". Running the application in Winedbg directly generates the above error message plus "Process of pid=xxxx has terminated". There is no backtrace, the thread dies completely. I have tried various Linux distributions using 4.x kernels (Bodhi Linux 5, Linux Mint Debian Edition 3, Debian 9.9, Debian 10, Ubuntu 16.04) and also tried Wine 2.0.2, which is the oldest available binary package, and everytime the above error occurs. Building a custom Linux kernel for the machine also didn't change anything. Trying to build Wine 1.7.18 on Debian 10 resulted in several compile time errors that I am not able to fix, so I am stuck with available binary packages. Debugging and changing the Windows application itself managed to move the crash from the first network connect to when the application is shutdown. Only widely available network component libraries for Delphi were used (Indy and ICS), there is no self-developed net code. So, the same Windows executable works with Wine 1.7.13 on Linux 3.11, but it crashes in Wine 4.x (I tried several packages from Ubuntu and Debian from winehq) on modern 4.x Linux kernels on this machine. Reporting Windows 10 instead will make things black instead. After commit b5e59c09d4a [2], the windows are black for both Windows 7 and 10. The whiteness itself seems to be related to commit 18339eb0f50 [3], though the window content still shows up at that point, it's just that, for example, the initial opening of a menu flashes the menu area in white instead of black as it usually does. It also introduces a white flash for when launching Final Fantasy XI Online, so maybe it will receive its own bug too. This with the open-source amdgpu/mesa driver and KWin-X11. It was told me that I should open a new bug report. ;-) Okay, the issue regarding the creation of useless shortcut files is back in Wine 8.0 (stable). When I open a *.xlsx file at the desktop and save it (with the same name) to an *.ods file then Excel 2010 will create two files. One is a *.lnk (which points to the original xlsx) and the other is a shortcut regarding the ods file but also with *.ods ending. When I manually launch the game, it actually appears that the execution of the program is getting stuck in an endless loop as the program does not end. I had to manually abort the program by entering "Ctrl-C". I am including a fresh log from the successful execution of the game with version 10.20 of Wine and a log when attempting to launch the game after installing version 11.0-rc1 of Wine.
