Proton-cachyos seemed to make the game startup correctly: after bisecting, I found the related patch to be https://github.com/CachyOS/wine-cachyos/commit/0e72c99dfa5e154372c708325950…. Adding this single patch on top of Wine upstream is enough to make the game startup on Wine as well, though with it requiring implementing more functions to get in game correctly. All the issues I'm describing are also on Windows. In fact, at 1080p, in that OS I got inconsistent results on the aspect ratio at first launch. (Deleting the registry folder at every test.) On Wine 11.2, on other hand, I'm getting consistent results: on XWayland it's always 4:3, on Wayland always 16:9. At above 1080p, the issue about being unable to render the title screen and crashing after loading a level is also an issue on Windows in exactly the same way: see here https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Spider-Man:_Shattered_Dimensions#Stuck_on… So, closing. Steps to reproduce: * Launch the game. * From the main menu, start the “Syberia recap” video. * Wait until the crash occurs (random timing). Additional notes: * No crashes occur during gameplay (no in-game crashes). * The issue also occurs with Wine Staging, Proton Experimental, and GE-Proton. * The issue does not occur on another system with an Intel CPU and NVIDIA discrete GPU.
