If doesn't help the try to re-install Games Manager. If the issue stil persists then reach out to customer support The installer apparently failed to create the needed services for the application. Adding this single patch on top of Wine upstream is enough to make the game startup on Wine as well, though with it requiring implementing more functions to get in game correctly. All the issues I'm describing are also on Windows. In fact, at 1080p, in that OS I got inconsistent results on the aspect ratio at first launch. (Deleting the registry folder at every test.) On Wine 11.2, on other hand, I'm getting consistent results: on XWayland it's always 4:3, on Wayland always 16:9. Steps to reproduce: * Launch the game. * From the main menu, start the “Syberia recap” video. * Wait until the crash occurs (random timing). Additional notes: * No crashes occur during gameplay (no in-game crashes). * The issue also occurs with Wine Staging, Proton Experimental, and GE-Proton. * The issue does not occur on another system with an Intel CPU and NVIDIA discrete GPU. For that, I'm using WineD3D in a modified version as of 11.0 and am building it with sanitizers enabled. For this, I'm reporting only one pixel format in GetPixelFormat. It being a hardcoded one, that will likely be present on most systems. (32-bit, 888, yada-yada). After the first frame is finished rendering, ASAN complains about line 596 being a heap use-after-free in the NVIDIA .so. Looking at what happens, in swapchain.c, the pixel_format at line 594, after "Presenting DC", is obtained from the context_gl->pixel_format field. pixel_format = &wined3d_adapter_gl(swapchain->device->adapter)->pixel_formats[context_gl->pixel_format]; This line seems suspicious to me, at the point where it gets set line 1907, the returned pixel format is directly the one from ChoosePixelFormat, which is 1 index-based according to documentation. This leads me to the assumption, that this is a mistake that has went overlooked, because most of the time more than one pixel format is returned. >From my understanding, the line should read: pixel_format = &wined3d_adapter_gl(swapchain->device->adapter)->pixel_formats[context_gl->pixel_format - 1]; ASAN doesn't complain about that part anymore afterwards. In themed environment it then creates a brush from a bitmap filled by a WM_PRINTCLIENT message. Unfortunately this bitmap is never changed and therefore still holds the default "black" from NtGdiCreateBitmap. So someone has to do something with the WM_PRINTCLIENT message. So wine could only use that protocol if the compositor supports it. It has to implement supplying windows applications which expect to be decorated with client side decorations in any case for compositors that don't, and that always can be used, even if the compositor would support xdg-decoration. While I don't appear to have this specific sha1sum version from 2024, I have a version from 2023 (version 2.12.0.20) and another from 2025 (version 2.14.0.57) and both do not show any window unless I install WebView2. I even grabbed a copy of Wine 9.7 from https://github.com/Kron4ek/Wine-Builds/releases/tag/9.7 and it behaves the same with these versions of the installer. I also tried creating the prefix with WINEARCH=win32, but it made no difference. Is there any chance you had some stuff in your prefix when you tested it? The application displays the Quicken splash screen briefly, then freezes. Wine reports a failure loading a typelib: err:ole:TLB_ReadTypeLib Loading of typelib L"C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\QWUTIL.tlb" failed with error 2 The file QWUTIL.tlb is not present in the original Quicken 6 installation media or directory. Only qwutil.dll exists. Older Wine versions (≈10.x) were able to run Quicken 6 without this TLB file. Manual registration attempts fail: regsvr32: 'DllRegisterServer' not implemented in dll 'qwutil.dll' This suggests Wine 11 now requires a typelib for COM/OLE registration that Quicken never shipped, causing a regression for this application. Steps to Reproduce: Install Wine 11.x (staging or stable) on Fedora Linux. Create a default WoW64 Wine prefix: WINEPREFIX=~/wine/quicken6-wow64 wineboot Install Quicken 6 (32-bit) into the prefix using the original installer. Verify that qw.exe is installed at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\qw.exe Launch Quicken: WINEPREFIX=~/wine/quicken6-wow64 DXVK_DISABLE=1 \ wine "C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\qw.exe" Expected Result: Quicken 6 launches normally and opens its main application window. Actual Result: Quicken displays its splash screen briefly, then exits. Can be reproduced with the demo version: https://archive.org/details/NeedForSpeedUnderground2_201405 There is only one slide shown in the demo (Slide_000.bmp), which is different from the one in attachment #71228. It is a rather dark image, but those 'stitches' can be made out. If you rename Slide_012.bmp to Slide_000.bmp in the AutoRun directory, you can reproduce the same image the bug reporter showed during installation. If I load the .bmp image in an image viewer like IrfanView or FastStone, those stitches are not present.
