The box is recognized by the window manager, always on top and cannot be moved or resized. First noticed when distribution updated from 10.20 to 11.0 (Arch linux based Manjaro, XFCE DE). Present on TaxAct 2023 through 2025 versions which use the webview2 API. Present on both of my AMD based Desktop (Ryzen 7 8745HS) and laptop (Ryzen 7 7730U). Also present in KVM/QEMU virtual machine running CachyOS KDE DE. I have performed regression testing which identified commit 1039c8f7f31 as the suspect. Patching dlls/winex11.drv/window.c with either of the two changes below correct the issue. Seems to loose focus on the wine window? Click on something, and the try entering a character, and nothing happens. Have to click on top of wine window to get focus back, and then pressing key works. I've noticed the with Pegasus email 4.91, but not sure if it is only with that app, or with many apps. Another user posted an issue with an earlier wine issue with Pegasus. But think this is new with 10.17. I've also noticed, that it seems to also have the XFCE bottom panel pop up at same time. Generally, it hides when not in use, but should only pop back up when mouse is moved in that lower area, but in this case the mouse pointer is no where near that area?? The game cannot be played. I tried Wine 9.0 and the result is the same. I also tried Wine 8.0.1 but there is an unimplemented function. I am guessing that this is not a regression. Work around is to use an emulated desktop. This work around also fixed an issue where nothing is drawn when disabling full screen mode within the game. Reader 11.0.4 with flash support for viewing PDF portfolios installed on Linux Mint 15 amd64. I can open a fully indexed PDF portfolio, and I can perform a search and get back the search window with the results for the search across the PDF files in the portfolio. However, as soon as I try to expand the results for a file to see the individual search hits, I get a dialog with "Unhandled exception, page fault...". See attached backtrace. Same problem happens with older versions of Wine and older versions of Reader. The next problem is a crash related to d3dx9_36.D3DXAssembleShaderFromResourceW, roughly bug 12020. Work around this with 'winetricks d3dx9'. The next problem is that full-screen mode doesn't work (bug 21791). Work around this by telling the demo to run in a window. This prompts you to press N, and then crashes after you do, with wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000001c at address 0x431c10 (thread 0009), starting debugger... In "Arma 3" and in "Arma: Reforger" CapsLock is used as push to talk button for radio and you are often holding it alongside other buttons. How to reproduce: 1. Caps lock state need to be on. 2. Hold other key, for example W for walking forward 3. Hold CAPS LOCK 4. In Arma 3 it will start broadcasting for ms and stop and after 1s it will start broadcasting again. In Arma: Reforger this will toggle between Squad <-> Platoon radio instead because it detected double click on Caps Lock. Game will ignore you are still holding caps lock. There is small chance that bug will not trigger. There is also possibility that game may mistakenly detect that you are still holding the Caps Lock key after releasing it, causing it to continue broadcasting until you press it again. I don't know how to reproduce this one. This is very common issue for Arma players on Linux. The following steps are needed to reproduce this: 1) install WarpEM according to [1] into wine-staging between v7.17 and v7.21, or wine-8.9 with nvidia-libs. (do not try with wine-staging 7.22 or later, because that has cuda support disabled). This has been testing this with "Shared WoW64" configuration of Wine. Trying to use Wine with the "new WoW64 approach" using -enable-archs=i386,x86_64 did also not work for me, because it failed much earlier when trying to install Cuda/WarpEM. 2) Data (5.5TB!) for testing is available from here [1]. Download and unpack Warpem_test.tar.gz to a directory that is accessible from wine. The screenshots Step1-7 should help to understand how M is supposed to be used. 3) Start M.exe. In my case, I do this ulimit -s 655360 wine $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Warp/M.exe or vglrun wine $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Warp/M.exe 4) Within M, do the following steps (see also Step1-7 in [2]): - Step 1: In the GUI window click "LOAD EXISTING FROM FILE" - Step 2: select ...\M_j33\Gag_c2_processing.population - Step 3: Upper right corner Refine button. - Step 4: Click refine - Step 5+6: workers are now testing the memory - Step 7: Eventually (after several minutes), one of the works crash, and there is no further progress. On Windows, this finishes and a new screen appears for the next step. This is not the case here. It gets stuck, and and eventually I stopped wine with <ctrl-C>. A log file is also available [2], but it is too large (1.1 GB) to be included here. If you have suggestions with WINEDEBUG filter should be used, let me know. These keys either generate no character. In contrast, when using the X11 driver (wine X11), the same keys function as expected, and the correct characters are produced. Upon inspection, the scan codes received under Wayland are extended (e.g., 0x259 instead of 0x59 for the slash key), which seems to lead to incorrect mapping or interpretation by Wine. This issue appears to stem from incomplete or incorrect handling of extended scan codes or keyboard layout mapping for the br-abnt2 layout in the Wayland input. In my tests, I forced the correct scan code for the slash key (0x59), and after this adjustment, the key started working properly again. I have attached a trace log file showing the key input events during the failure. Although I am currently using a modified version of Wine to generate this trace, the problem also occurs on the stable Wine release. I tried to import the .sst file and it tells me "The import was successfull". But there is no new certificate in any certificate store. What I did: NS15 needs the following: WMI, dotnet452, and Windows above 2003, preferably Windows 7. First I installed Windows PowerShell core using these directions: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/scripting/setup/installing-powe… Then I created a 64-bit wineprefix. Installed dotnet 452 using winetricks 452 installs but then sets the wine version to either XP or 2003, neither of which will run NS15. So... winecfg Windows 7 Then the installation works. It requests that powershell be activated, and that seems to work. It recognizes that the installed dotnet is inadequate, and installs its own. And then it starts to install the program. What makes this confusing is that Natspeak 12.5 also uses dotnet452, and the same things happen, but NS12.5 installs and runs fine. The kangaroo itself is ok, the floor textures as well, but most of the environment has black textures. Graphics card is a SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon RX 7600 PULSE 8GB, running on Debian 12 with wine staging 11.0-rc4.
