Old WOW64 closes the NEW PROJECT window and opens the standalone app but new WOW64 malfunctions somewhere in between. I built a fresh new WOW64 from scratch just in case of a fluke but bug remains. Therefore WINED3D/gl renderer seems most reliable for all VOCALOID6 use cases. Unclear why vulkan/DAMAVAND renderer does not work for VOCALOID VST3s despite working for standalone. MangoHUD overlay is not even visible which is odd because MangoHUD typically appears for other blackscreen cases and at least indicates DAMAVAND. Also, despite VSTs being loaded and WINED3D rendering same graphics as Windows, VOCALOID6 standalone is not launched when loading VOCALOID6 VSTs which is triggered for Windows Bigwig. I haven't noticed any logs that indicate an obvious error that prevents standalone from launching and unclear if it causes other usage issues/bugs or if standalone may be launched manually as a workaround. This still needs to be tested which I skipped because I'm not familiar enough with the apps yet. For yabridge link, it reports logs for DXVK which is tailored for games so as suggested it is probably better to run the app without DXVK: https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge/issues/479#issuecomment-4509254761 DXVK test via GE-Proton10-32 crashed for standalone which seems to confirm that its probably less reliable for running VOCALOID6. Note VOCALOID6 standalone seems broken for new WOW64 vs old WOW64 which recently became clear while reporting successful tests which caused this bug to be closed as fixed: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56482 Bug originally reported for wine wine-9.3 (Staging) x86_64 (guest: i386) which seems to use old WOW64 so closing it as fixed seems valid but important to note that it apparently only applies for old WOW64 and not new WOW64. I will open a separate bug to address VOCALOID6 standalone crashing for new WOW64 and link it here for reference. Underlying issue: If a ::select is done on a socket that can be ::recv'ed from, but is already closed at that time, the socket will be part of the except-fd_set. This does *not* happen under linux (or windows). I have attached a patch for the wineserver that fixes it under my machine and also a proof of concept to show the deviation between wine, linux and native. The only time I have lingering processes is if DAZ crashes (which it does from time to time) and I am in the habit of doing a "pkill -f C:" whenever that happens to make sure everything gets cleaned up. I just ran winecfg and turned off desktop emulation, but even so, I am still seeing the exact same behavior. This is NOT in a clean WINEPREFIX, however. If this is something that persists once desktop emulation has been used once, then I'd have to create a new prefix and install DAZ there to test it. I can do that if you think it would be be a helpful data point. Oh, but the good news is that the scaling still works even with desktop emulation turned off, so the fonts aren't so tiny. Hmmmm...any chance that setting has some effect on this? It steals focus a lot, and that setting was the only thing that made a difference. It also allows me to scale the UI, which the native app doesn't have built-in for some reason and the default fonts are so small I can't read them. I'm pretty sure I tried it with and without that mode when I first ran into the issue, but I have not tested it since then. I will do that and post an update. (...) Regardless of above, the other part - glyph position distortion - does seem a genuine *wine* bug.
