Click "Continue". Wait ~10 seconds Click "Continue". 5, "mIRC Options" Click "OK". 6, In the text box type: "//window @apple | window @baked | window @cake | window @dish" Press ENTER. This will create four windows. 7, Click "Yes" at the Command Warning. 8, In the treebar (thing on the left side of mIRC). Click the text or icon "@cake" then "@baked" then "@apple". 9, Click "@apple" again. In Windows, mIRC will go to "@baked" window as intended. Clicking the current window/channel/query icon/name you are in will take you back to the previous window. Now that you are in the "@baked" window, if you click the "@baked" window/icon again, it will take you to the "@cake" icon/window. In Wine, mIRC will go to "@baked" then jump to the "@cake" window. Please check your settings and try again". Kontakt 7 (Player), which uses a nearly identical installer setup (InstallAware Wizard-based), installs just fine. The Player version is free, but requires going through the Native Access download manager (which itself is annoying to get working on Wine, see AppDB): https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-8-… I'm working with these binaries: 73632dc3fa6ac54365ca9c3f892083598fd42c72 Kontakt 7 7.10.9 Setup PC.exe c71edf4f829dc3cbf34a92d152cccbb6092c5666 Kontakt 8 8.7.2 Setup PC.exe I've attached install logs on a fresh prefix with WINEDEBUG=+msi,+msidb,+warn for both 7 and 8 so you can look at the differences. Notably, it seems like the .msi file by Kontakt 8 extracted to C:\Windows\Installer is malformed in some way - trying to open it with msitools yields "Table size is invalid 148/3" when loading _Tables (and this is in the Wine logs as well), and real Windows agrees with this. The string pool seems to have a lot of empty(?) entries at the end (see string_totalsize traces), which for 8 is enough to push it past the 2^16 threshold in msi_save_string_table (https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/blob/4dfbf077cf708e4bbffa8e086d78d665…) This then makes the _Tables table fail to load. If I run the installer in a windows VM, the dropped .msi file won't have the blank entries at the end, and will install correctly (with a string pool size of ~50k rather than ~80k). This gets updated as part of `X11DRV_FocusIn()` and `focus_out()` (which is called by `X11DRV_FocusOut()`. The X11 code works by setting the foreground window to the desktop when this happens: /* Abey : 6-Oct-99. But letter is shown correctly in same textbox. Pressing CTRL+<umlaut> produce letter AND keycode. - Pressing "ö" crashes MailStore-Client with "arithmetic" error. Works fine with 11.0 stable. Works fine if Ctrl+ö is pressed, too. I've noticed this behavior since wine 11.8. Copy&Paste works fine in all tested applications. So I think it's something wrong with keyboard-press-eventhandling? Run multi-display Linux configuration (like a laptop) (2.) Have the built-in display the secondary (extended) display (3.) Have the HDMI/DP out 2nd display be set as the primary display (4.) One can verify this by looking at the desktop offsets in X Windows (5.) The primary display has offset {0,0} (6.) The secondary display will have some other non-zero offsets Run a WIN32 app using wine that uses QueryDisplayConfig.
