RPM's are + great when you don't have a clue, but wine is pretty easy to install from + tarball. My first install was from a rpm that came with my distro (it was about + a year out of date) my second install was from tarball. .tools\wineinstall + worked good enough that was able to run wine after running it. I now install off + CVS which means I am as up to date as the developers (this has its own + problems). The biggest problem with installing from tarball or CVS is the time + it takes to build the system. On my machine it takes about 3 hours.
