Very similar problem installing IE 4.01 as part of the Visual Studio 6.0 MSDN
package.
I'm insalling via an smb mount to a dvd residing on an XP server. Tried with
caching (on XP) turned on and off. When copying dirs off the smb mount to local
fs I get occasional "the file changed as we were reading it" errors.

Since 20040615, this bug hasn't changed for me. Every new version since has it. I had to install an
older version of Wine (20040505) but it only really works for one of three programs I used regularly in
the past.

With the latest cvs (8-24-04) the cursor works differently. The hour glass now
remains displayed over the whole dialog but also outside the dialog box. The
check box is also no longer visible but is still functional.

Summary: mIRC Script Editor file writing error
Product: Wine
Version: 20040813
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: sapiens(a)fbi.hu
I'm using mIRC 6.16, but this error occurs in every versions since 6.03, i think.
If I'm opening the "Script Editor" (alt +R), and write a script (or only load
one and after I edit it), I can't leave blank lines:
when i close the dialog, or only change the tabs, the blank lines will be filled
with a random script line, beginning with a string (I cant Paste it, it gives
here an 'u' string).
for example, if i write this script:
alias helloworld {
echo -s Hello World!!!
}
the result will be this:
alias helloworld {
echo -s Hello World!
uecho -s Hello World!
}
and the mIRC want to execute the 'uecho' command too, but it can be dangerous,
if an 'uecho' command is writed too.
