Created an attachment (id=1234)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=1234&action=view)
Patch to handle constant characters in the mask string (eg. -)
The - character in the mask needs to be written back into the string. The
attached patch fixes that. It should apply cleanly to the tar of my tree at:
http://mandoo.dyndns.org/wine-mm-20051020.tar.gz
Please try it out and let me know if it works for you or not. If so, we can
close this bug... if there's another bug, please open a seperate bug report and
assign it to me again.

Well, it runs well in a 16-bit color environment, even when I start xine in a
vncserver with --depth=16. But this is of course less than ideal. I'll try to
find the exact line where it crashes again.

Vitaliy, if Wine cannot load 'c:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom
Force\Sound.dll' by default when 'c:\windows\system32\Sound.dll' is present,
then that's a bug, I guess.
I did not do any tests, but maybe I will. It would be nice to have
ntdll_test.exe to extract some temporary DLL named as one of the systems DLLs
to the working directory and try loading it.
Anyway, is there still any 16-bit app using system Sound.dll ?
