[Bug 2696] No Text Displayed in WINE

There were no messages printed out on the console? You might want to provide the Version number displayed by: rpm -qi freetype I'm not sure where you came up with the ~/.fonts directory. I have not heard of that being used in Wine before. You might try setting an environment variable: WINEDEBUG = font and then try running something, and see if any printed messages might give a clue to what is going on.
