I'm almost positive that bug has something to do with the base addresses of most
of the dlls. Of course it would be more helpfull if you provide Wine's own
backtrace and module info (in case that D2 somehow misinterpreted the information).
Windows has a hard limit of 2G for user space. And most if not all old programs
will fail if they encounter address that is past 2GB mark (0x7fffffff).
This is what Wine's preloader is for. But it's disabled on BSD (by ports author
because preloader doesn't work on BSD).

Did you compile with debugging turned on and did not strip out the symbols?
Maybe you should run it in winedbg too.

Whoever maintains this bug, can you update your WINE version please? The bug
still exists as of 0.9.22.

Here is one more comment I should add. I have just compared crashdumps of Diablo
done in September with current ones - Fault address and Stack bytes are quite
same. So changes which sould fix regression found in 6422 did not fix my issue.

I could not apply the patch you have given to me to 0.9.22 sources so I cvsuped
current sources of wine and created portage for wine-current. Compilation
finished successfully and I tried to run Diablo app again. It also failed. I
will now attach the new dump file. I guess it will give you some infomration on
what is going on there. If this is not enough please let me know. I am beginning
to think that this is definitely a FreeBSD issue... What debug or checking
actions should I perform to make diagnostics? Thanks.

If this app works reliably under Windows but has the clipping under wine then it
is a bug in wine, not in the application. As I thought the buttons are 2px
higher what would suggest this app manages to create a non-flat toolbar with a
0px margin. When I will have time I'll try to fix it (UBSPay has also a similar
problem) but I would need to do it carefully not to introduce new bugs.

Shmyrev's patch has now been committed to the repository, and the bug has
dissappeared from Metacity with VisualBasic apps. MWM still shows the bug, but I
doubt whether it is worthwhile for the bug be fixed for MWM as well. What do you
think? Is the bug fixed in Sawfish as well?
