Summary: firefox 2 rc3: installer indicates insufficient disk
space (even though there is plenty)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.23.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/bonecho/all-rc.html
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: michael.s.gilbert(a)gmail.com
when attempting to install the windows release of firefox 2 rc3 via wine, the
installer will say "you do not have sufficient disk space to install to this
location" regardless of location chosen to install to (tried c:\program
files\firefox and z:\home\firefox). i have plenty of disk space:
$ df /home
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda6 76312160 41731000 30704680 58% /home
note that firefox 1.5 on wine works great for me.
thanks for the hard work.
mike

UPDATE:
Forgot to say that I get this error with:
Firefox Setup 2.0 Beta 2.exe
Firefox Setup 2.0 RC 3.exe
but not with:
Firefox Setup 2.0 Beta 1.exe
which installs fine

I'm unable to reopen the bug, I'll post this with it marked as RESOLVED. I hope
this works.
I'm trying to install Firefox-2.0_rc3, running wine-0.9.23
It fails when choosing install location. When I click next it brings up a popup
complaining there's not enough disk space.
There's is plenty of free space in the disk. Just below the Destination Folder
it reports:
Space required: 18.6MB
Space available: 52.8GB
The output I get on the terminal is:
$ wine Firefox\ Setup\ 2.0\ RC\ 3.exe

Debian just updated their wine package to 0.9.20. Install still fails. The log
doesn't look any different.

compiling wine from source following the instruction gave me an error. Turning
the virtual desktop on, worked, however. Thanks!
Is there a startup flag which I can give a program to invoke the virtual
desktop? I don't need my word locked in there.
