The original problem is fixed. However there is still a problem with Alice -
mouse "escapes" the window.

I updated to wine 0.9.27 and can verify this happens with both modes: in desktop
mode and w/o desktop mode. The behaviour is still as described above: switching
the resolution down to the start screen works, but switching it up to the game's
resolution doesn't.

Seeing as it's working and we just need a decent design, and that this blocks a
large number of games, I think we ought to aim to have it finished for 1.0 if
possible.

I have no idea, all I can say is that your setup is not using NPTL for some
reason. I'm afraid you'll need to debug that yourself.

Ghost Recon expansion log with +ole,+storage,+seh
Just encountered this with Ghost Recon.
I installed Ghost Recon then went to install the Mission packs. The installer
would get to about 90% of the preparation bar then tell me the game wasn't
installed.
I then did a "wineboot" which seemed to fix that.
Now when I run the installer for the Mission Packs I get the "An installation
support file could not be installed. (0x8000ffff)" before it even gets to 1%
(basically it does it instantly).
GZipped as it's 1.6MB.

This still happens when using a "switcher" script (like the one in the Diablo II
how-to section) that starts the game with a NoCD executable (just a normal
cracked one) then swaps back the original. Game loads fine but crashes the
moment you try and log in with a character onto Battle.NET.
Game works fine with the original CD and starting via the original EXE though (a
nightmare for testing though and for those of us that hate switching CDs :p).
My only concern though is if this isn't actually a Wine error, I'll test it on
Windows when I get a chance to see if it works there.

Glibc has not been touched in the last 6 month. How would updating wine from
0.9.26 to 0.9.27 touch glibc and break NPTL support.
I can't imagine any way that glibc should be touched. Inspire me! :-)

Entire console output
This app seems to print a lot of its own debugging info about the system it's
running on and I'm wondering if something it's detecting is conflicting with
Wine.

Summary: Second Life 1.13.1.5 doesn't run
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC-x86-64
URL: http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: download
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ben(a)atomnet.co.uk
The previous version of Second Life I had installed worked fine (not sure what
version it was, it must have been just the version before this one). When
logging in I was told I needed to update by the client, I did, but the app
begins to load then closes itself. I uninstalled it entirely and installed a
clean version but it still does the same thing so it's not an old configuration
issue.
