Summary: WINE crashes on startup because of a page fault on write
access
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.27.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: paul(a)uni-bonn.de
When starting winecfg or wine I get:
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x003ffd80 in 32-bit code....
This is definitely not a NTPL issue (as one can read on the internet all the
time), because wine used to be running fine until I updated my GNOME. I'm
running kernel 2.6.17.7, fglrx ATI driver and glibc-2.3.3.

Yep, in Wine-git, I see the 'flash' and then the text disappears.
BTW, here's a more direct download page:
