Immediate crash.
After crash, the resolution is set to 1024x768 Refresh:75hz (I'm using 1280x1024

I have tried to add a 32 bit option to xorg.conf. I have also tried to run
Warcraft in a 1024x768 window (configured in winecfg). No luck.

P.S. I think that bug#4455 is the same issue (but I never ran 0.9.5 or other
previous version so not sure)

That particular error seems to have gone away in the latest CVS version of WINE,
however, there's a new one now:

I am having exactly this problem also, and I'm *not* using WineOSS. Game
otherwise works perfectly, but clicking on Bnet gives the "Hey guys, we got a
big error here".
My config:
Wine 0.9.6 - Debian Etch out-of-the-box
Configured to use ALSA, "use driver emulation" is ticked - see bug#4602
Configured to run in an 800x600 virtual desktop, with DirectX allowed to
restrict the mouse from leaving the window
KDE 3.5 (Debian Etch current as of today)
Kernel 2.6.10 (I use D2Loader-1.11b so no worries about copy protection)
Best,
Chris

Summary: Underrun detection fixme running Diablo II & StarCraft
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.6.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: chrisc(a)terminalarrogance.com
This is the same bug as #2013, which has been closed. I have upgraded Debian
from Sarge to Etch, and Diablo II (with LoD expansion patched to v1.11b) works
right out of the box in the current Etch version of Wine (0.9.6). *But*, the
sound is incredibly fast and stuttery, and hundreds of these messages scroll up
the terminal where wine was invoked:
fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=6428 <
primary_done=14620)
In StarCraft (with BroodWar, patched to v1.12) the same occurs:
fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=3216 <
primary_done=5264)
If this has been fixed, please tell me what config changes to make. Currently
I've configured wine to use the ALSA driver. I've tried all settings of Hardware
Acceleration, and all with the same result. (Sound doesn't work at all if I use
the OSS driver, because I'm running KDE 3.5 with artsd/alsa, not oss.)
Thank you,
Chris
P.S. When I set the Audio config to "Use driver emulation" and set hw accel to
"Emulation" the stuttering disappears in Diablo II (although so does 3D sound),
but the problem persists in StarCraft.

This only occurs when you click inside of a textbox such as the URL bar or a
comment field. Every time you click on one of those types of fields w/o having
the InstallShield error up, you get a message in the terminal:
fixme:imm:ImmReleaseContext (0x60070, 0x559bc8b0): stub
When the error is on the screen and you click on a textbox, it crashes with the
error mentioned earlier.

Summary: X Error of failed request: BadAtom (X_GetAtomName)
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jave27(a)gmail.com
Steps to reproduce:
- Install & open Mozilla Seamonkey 1.0 in WINE (may do the same thing in
Firefox, haven't tested yet).
- Try to install Sid Meijer's Civilization 4, and an InstallShield wizard error
occurs.
- Click Details to get more information about the error.
- Highlight the text of that error, right-click and Copy the text.
- Right-click back on SeaMonkey, and SeaMonkey closes with the following error
to StdErr:
X Error of failed request: BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GetAtomName)
Atom id in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 8445
Current serial number in output stream: 8447
I didn't see any X_GetAtomName bugs in bugzilla, and google has very little on
the subject. It's an uncommon sequence of events, but reproducable.
