Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-binary AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: haskjold(a)gmail.com When playing Diablo 2, v1.11 in Wine it corrupts my MBR, so I have to rewrite it to allow my machine to boot again. At least one other person visiting #winehq experienced the very same problem. I suspect it might be related to some copy protection mechanism. I did not experience this problem with Diablo 2,v.1.10. I'm not using any no-cd crack or any other third party stuff. The game is installed from original CD's. It should be noted that I ran wine as a normal user (not root), but because of a misconfiguration the user had access to write to /dev/hda. Did you try if switching to different windowsversions (i.e. to XP) in winecfg changed anything?
