Summary: PAF5 won't install
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.14.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: djrpublic(a)cfl.rr.com
Now running Ubuntu 6.06LTS and wine 0.9.14
With .14 and .13 the simple act of running PAF5 chashes wine on my system.
I removed my .wine folder - using Synaptic, completely removed wine and then
re-installed it.
Running PAF5EnglishSEtup.exe proceeds normally until 1/4 of the progress bar in
InstallShield Wizard then hangs.

I just removed my .wine folder, then, using Synaptic, made a complete uninstall
of wine and libwine and made a fresh install of wine and libwine.
When running winecfg clicking the Audio tab crashes program. Forgive me for
showing terminal output in line but it isn't very long!

Summary: MSI Exec fails on install, missing registry entries and
crash in libwine_unicode
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.8.
Platform: PC-x86-64
URL: http://www.victordamian.com/msicrash.txt
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-msi
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: andrel(a)speakeasy.net
Fails on registered classes and
strcmpiW+0x20 in libwine_unicode.so.1
Attempted to install the SoundForge 8 application using:
wine msiexec forge80_enu.msi
I believe the setup is looking for MSI services that don't exist yet.
Everything is compiled with omit_frame_pointer, so stacktrace isn't so
usefull.
Running wine Setup.exe finds no MSI service and attempts to run the
InstMsi-x86w.exe or InstMsi-x86w.exe, which fail, as they should.
The MSI in question was creation date was Feb 14 2005, by Sony.
URL points to stacktrace and log.
Executing on Gentoo
Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 #11 SMP PREEMPT i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU
2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

I have debugged this problem. The application calls GetDIBits() with a bitmap
that is still selected in a device context. This is not allowed, and Wine
can't get the DIB color table. I don't know why it works in Windows. I'll ask
on wine-devel.

I tried with X server with 16bit, the msgbox went away but only gives me a
blackscreen.
I also tried with Stefans ddraw patch and 24bit X, but error is still there.
maybe it doesnt like trace:ddraw:fill_caps : Z bits = 24 ?? should return 32 or 16
