Tried running the game again (once again from a windows installation) and I now get: FATAL: fglX11FreeBuffer: firegl_FreeBuffer() failed! To me it looks like an ati driver issue. I do have an ati card (x800 pro) but the card, drivers, etc... are installed correctly and run just fine (and, yes, 3d acceleration is enabled and working). I checked the gentoo forums and searched for this error and noticed that it only seemed to appear for people who were running some games on wine or if their system was actually messed up, which is making me think that it might be a wine issue?
