This is a duplicate. Strangely, the same person submitted both bugs . . .

I think this you are missing some devel packages; this is probably not a Wine
problme.
Have you installed packages with names like 'gcc-devel' or 'glibc-devel'?

I have a AMD 4200+ X2 with linux Suse 10.1.
I install gcc before compile but the configure script give this:
checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gcc... gcc -m32
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler
cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
I will be necessary I will send the config.log file.
Thanks,

Correct. I am building it from source. I will compile it with the debug flag
and see if that would help.

This bug should have been marked as resolved a while back. It's been a
non-issue since about version 13. No library overrides are presently
required other than 'usp10.dll' which addresses a different issue.
As far as I know there is only one open bug that relates to PAF 5.2.
And that's an issue with PAF and Wine not talking to each other about
registry data updates.
Since Wine will not recognize my login information anymore I can't fix
it. Would you please post for me?
RHETORICAL QUESTIONS:
Why does every web site insist on a user id and password which seem to
be of absolutely no value to anyone on the face of the earth????
Once a potential user has jumped through the appropriate hoops to
satisfy the site why the &^%# can't it remember a user's login data????
I wrote it down first then entered the data into the site so I know it's
a Wine side issue!

Created an attachment (id=3198)

Console output form with current GIT
Console output from current GIT (2006-08-07).
I do not get the texture limitation problem mentioned above. I have a GeForce
6600GT 256MB, and the game only requires GeForce 2 or 3.
When I attempt to play a game (that is, the main menu and such work), the game
window resizes from full-screen to an unmanaged window covering most of the
screen. Then, the progress bar goes for some time and stops (it is not
possible to see whether it reaches 100%). The game hangs at this posotion.
The following message is repeated at the end, before I aborted the game
fixme:d3d8:ValidateVertexShader (0xb2efdd8 0 0 0x1): stub
fixme:d3d8:IDirect3DDevice8Impl_CreateVertexShader (0x1ae238) : Number of
shaders exceeds the maximum number of possible shaders

Well, you need IE + windows... Unfortunately the website is broken; it
won't work even with firefox and windows.
I can post it on my website if you're interested.

I think I did; I'll check to make sure.
