Summary: Sling Player 1.0.5.140 fails to stream video from
SlingPlayer
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.20.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-net
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ilan(a)fonz.net
SlingPlayer is a piece of software that allows you to connect to a setup box
like device and stream television content via your network or the internet. (see
appdb entry for more info.) This application is based on Windows Media Player.
The installer runns correctly, but once you run SlingPlayer.exe it will connect
to the SlingBox device as it does under Windows. However, if you attempt to
stream any video content from the device it provides a error via msgbox "Unable
to start streaming because not all components are registered properly. Please
reinstall the product."
Console output is:
__driCreateNewScreen_20050727 - succeeded

I haven't set the option Run when install is finished, because there is no
option like this.
The installation now seems to work fine for me with your fix.

My appologies, that should have been WINEDEBUG=+all, not +ALL, capslock got me.
Using +all spews out more information than anyone would probably ever care to
see for about 30 - 40 minutes before outputting the messages in my last comment
and then repeating.
Running with WINEDEBUG=+INT shows the following repeat endlessly:

WINEDEBUG=+ntdll wine Dfw.exe
Running the trial with 0.9.20, the program does not start. It just hangs
immediately after execution. Based on the errors included in previous reports
on this bug I ran it with WINEDEBUG=+ntdll. This information is attached.

Confirmed under 0.9.20. Running the application results in it printing out the
banner with version info; "Dos Navigator Version 1.51 Copyright (C) 1991-99
RIT Research Labs". Then it hangs and not accepting user input.
Running with WINEDEBUG=+ALL gives the following output:
__driCreateNewScreen_20050727 - succeeded
Warning: unprotecting memory to allow real-mode calls.
NULL pointer accesses will no longer be caught.
