http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6269
Summary: Grim Fandango page faults and exits
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.21.
Platform: Other
URL: http://www.lucasarts.com/products/grim/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: a.hurst(a)shef.ac.uk
Intro video tries to play:
1: wrong resolution / video mode.
2: Draws a big green overlay on it, and draws _extremely_ slowly, very much like
my bug involving Thief: The Dark Project ( 5823 )
Main game doesn't even start, page faults and exits.
Wine 0.9.15 draw the video at normal speed, without the green overlay, but still
at the wrong resolution.
(interestingly the accompanying dxDiag.exe can be made to crash in the sound
tests.. another bug ?)

James,
it might not be worth worrying about this compile problem
until James Hawkins has a look at the MSI issue that Benjamin mentioned:
err:msidb:save_string_table failed to fetch string
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"InstallFinalize" returned 1603

Hello Benjamin,
Still having an issue with the compile of Wine. I have followed your
instructions to the letter and have started from scratch using Wine 0.9.21
autoconf 2.60 and gcc 4.1.0
It looks like there is an issue with the make depend command, something about a
"missing separator" - Is it possible that there is something wrong with the
patch file that I have - have I got an out-of-date version perhaps?
I have attached a couple of text files which are my standard and error output
for your review.
Believe it or not I am quite technical in the real world! But this is the first
time I have got into some nitty gritty on linux for years.
Thanks again for your assitance to a "newbie".
Kind regards
James Gillies

We already have safedisc running, and need to get to a design that Alexandre is
willing to accept (see recent WWN), in the mean time you can try this RPM that
is built with copy protection support
