Yes, 2.06 beta currently, to be precise (I've been unable to upgrade to 2.10 -
see bug 7046)

With today's wine, you still need to rename drive_c, but
the crash no longer happens. Instead, the installer
aborts with a "path not found" dialog. The log shows
trace:file:FindFirstFileExW
L"c:\\windows\\system32\\CatRoot\\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\\*.cat"
0 0x33b7b4 0 (nil) 0
...
warn:file:wine_nt_to_unix_file_name
L"CatRoot\\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\\" not found in
/home/dank/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/system32
...
err:eventlog:ReportEventW L"Path not found\r\n"
I gather the CatRoot directory is related to Windows File Protection
and is supposed to contain signed catalogs of files; see

Try it with latest GIT or wait for 0.9.29. I think the problem you are talking
about (1-3 sec freezes) is fixed.

Things get a lot further now. It puts up a nice
dialog saying you need ie6 and BITS installed.
Running http://kegel.com/wine/fakeie.sh.txt makes it happier,
but it still wants BITS.

Invalid. Please file separate bugs for each problem. However,
1) Try again there were some regressions make sure to set LANG=ru_RU.cp1251
2) Use "Virtual Desktop" mode - run program this way: wine explorer
/desktop=foo,800x600 game.exe
3) configuration problem - use alsa/oss/arts/esd/etc. Make sure nothing else
using sound at the same time.

Seems to be working now, at least I don't get
any scary dialog boxes or delays.

I can't start the actual game (getting stack overflow) but all menu and settings
works properly. In the demo in menu mouse never warps to the center, except at
the start-up.
Can you be more specific where are you getting this problem? Can you try with
demo and check if it's the same?

I am having the exact same problem. I wanted to play Fallout and Fallout 2 after
installing Ubuntu, but I can't! :(

iTunes 6.5.2 seems to install properly now with tonight's git.
(The resulting installation of iTunes even starts up the
main UI, after which it doesn't do too much else useful,
but that's a different bug.)
