ReportedBy: bjamesv(a)juno.com
warcraft crashes after login/selection, just after loading and just before game
begins. crash goes like this:
1) 'wine WoW.exe -opengl'
2) hardware accelerated login window comes up, login.
3) character model viewing page/selection screen loads, select 'Enter World'
4) loading screen, bar progresses to 100%
5) wine quits out immediatly from the load bar screen before the actual game
starts, no warcraft error just:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address (nil) (thread
0009), starting debugger...
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code

this is wine-0.9.29,
server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
client glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL version string: 1.5.6 NVIDIA 87.76
trying to find a peer with a fix, i found at least one other person on my distro
forums with the same exact problem, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=329822
the crash is very reproducable, and has entirely shut down opengl mode for me.
(-d3d is fine, just not-totally finished/supported, but playable).

I've also tried to run Microsoft Train Simulator following the above instructions.
I tried to catch some suspiciuos log entry after quitting. The result is the
following:

Doesn't crash if you use the 'emulate virtual desktop' option in winecfg
- but one is limited to 8 bit colour.
Same goes for Grim Fandango crash bug 6269.

If one enables 'emulate virtual desktop' option in winecfg, game starts fine in
any X colour depth. Much like workaround for Thief Gold crash bug 6287

Are you sure this is a comctl32 bug? I only needed to copy snmpapi.dll to wine's
windows/system32 directory to run the game. Using the native comctl32.dll did
not improve the game at all.
I can't really play the game because it's in Italian. I also find it odd that a
simple game needs snmp capabilities.

It seems that the second toolbar is positioned correctly but the first one is
one pixel too low. Could you try to move the first toolbar to vertical and then
to horizontal again or start the program in a clean ~/.wine and check if the
problem persists?
