Ok, just noticed it only complains about the 3D driver 1x now instead of twice
when launching an app. Still working with 64MB shared ram

This happens EVERY time wine is run, even just running winecfg, while the system
is using the lower amount of shared Video RAM

Summary: Wine crashes computer when Shared video changes
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.29.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P3
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: morgan_jay(a)bellsouth.net
Affects all versions I tested from 9.27 to 9.29.
Shared video was recently changed from 32 to 64 MB. Everything worked ok, but
more RAM was needed for main system memory, rather than graphics, so the Shared
memory was reduced back to 32MB. However, as soon as computer was rebooted with
new Shared memory settings, wine will not run. When wine runs, it (on this
system anyway) gives the error "libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support
visual 0x46" 2x before the app launches, but when it launches it works fine.
After reducing the shared RAM, it gave the error 1x, and then the system froze -
no keybd, no mouse, can't use ctrl+alt+F2 to get to console - only recourse is a
hard reset. Took me hours (reinstalling versions of wine mostly) to figure out
the problem. After changing BIOS settings back to 64MB shared, wine runs fine.
I would like to be able to change the BIOS settings without Wine causing my
entire system to bomb.

Rhen please try the following: put MSVCR80.dll in the directory from where you
run the app, and look if the manifest file is present ( just try 'touch
Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest' if it isn't present)

This bug used to occur for me 100% of the time when updating. It has not been
an issue for me for a few months now. I think this may be resolved.

Just to start to play it is necessary to click on "Nuova partita"
(stands for "New game").
( If you don't know Briscola you can see here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Briscola )
However, italian or English, you can't play with these distoced buttons :(
It is a simple game, but it is very nice that it is possible to play
multiplayer by internet (snmp protocol?)..
Sigh.. I can forget to see this game working in linux isn't it?..
