I tested the following games:
Counter Strike 1.6
Counter Strike: Source
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Using Wine 0.9.46, all the games launch fine EXCEPT Team Fortess 2. TF2 gives
me the bug 99% of the time, it's almost impossible to launch the game.
Using 0.9.47 or CVS, I can launch all the games most of the time, the bug
happens randomly but it's uncommon.
Using Gentoo Linux, 2.6.22 kernel.

Looks like install is now ok, and the crash reported in comment #22
is a problem in our html help parser:
=>1 0x00000000 (0x0034e748)
2 0x767a010a next_node+0x2a(stream=<register ESI not in topmost frame>,
buf=<register EDI not in topmost frame>)
[/usr/src/debug/wine-0.9.47-fe/dlls/hhctrl.ocx/content.c:143] in hhctrl
(0x0034e768)
3 0x767a0b2e parse_hhc+0xce(info=0x11e380, str=0x6058d340, hhc_root=0x137490,
insert_type=0x34f818)
[/usr/src/debug/wine-0.9.47-fe/dlls/hhctrl.ocx/content.c:360] in hhctrl
(0x0034f7e8)
So removing 'install' keyword, changing component to misc.
(By the way, please NEVER run wine as root.)

What version of Safari are you running? It crashes here with Safari 3.0.3 and
wine 0.99.4.
