I have just checked with the XOrg ati driver and a cleanish xorg.conf. The work viewport appears and works properly and there is appears to be less graphical corruption on the other interface elements as well. I can supply a log if needed. Also, I have just noticed I made a typo in the winedebug settings for the previous logs I supplied. WINEDEBUG=+ddraw,+openg,+d3d,+x11drv should nave been WINEDEBUG=+ddraw,+opengl,+d3d,+x11drv (and probably needed +warn=all as well) Should I resubmit log with the correct settings? Again, this is why it is encouraged to test with a clean .wine directory each time to eliminate the registry as a cause of the error. Even though wineprefixcreate will update your registry correctly most of the time, there are still times when it won't (such as you reported). I thought you know what doesn't work. Photoshop wants the Escape key as a hotkey so maybe in some situations it's impossible to cancel an action with Escape.
