I got all of the codecs and DLLs needed to play video clips through Picasa. The sound (of 1 sec of play) plays and loops continuously. And Picasa says that it is playing, but it never stops playing the file. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Picasa 2. Put all codecs and DLLs that are needed to play the video clips. 3. Run Picasa from console 4. Make sure that Picasa is able to scan a folder that has .avi and or .mpg files. 5. Give it 5 - 10 min to scan files 6. After files are scanned, and show up as indexed. Then, try to play the video files. 7. Once file has started to play, check the system console for Fixme's. What is expected to happen: You'll see a lot of Quartz based Fixmes. Since Wine 0.9.45 (and now Wine 0.9.46) when I enable 3D desktop all the applications' main windows (the application launched with Wine as eMule and World Of Warcraft as example) don't have window canvas. If I disable 3D desktop and then enable it again windows canvas are drawn. I experienced this with Beryl and now with Compiz (latest Ubuntu main repository version). If I use normal desktop everything works fine. Seems as if that windows are created with <no border> or similar flag. Hope this would be useful, Ema. Ps. Correct rendering. For school, I use a program called thinkwell. This program seem to work great under wine, except for a rendering glitch. I have attached three images to show the problem. The first shows what it is supposed to look like. This screenshot was taken under WinXP. The part I have circled in red is a quicktime video. The remaining window is a shockwave animation. The problem is that under wine, when the quicktime video redraws (which happens about 25 time per second), the shockwave animation becomes black. The shockwave animation redraws every couple of seconds at which time the screen flickers. This happens under kwin, metacity, and compiz. The second screenshot shows what happens under wine. The third screenshot shows a glitch under compiz that allows you to see what happens. When I drag the window, the window and the shockwave animation move and continue to update. But the quicktime video remains in its place until I release the window titlebar. What I see as the bug and the fix is that the z order of the animations is bad. It is GNOME 2.18.3 running on Fedora 7. At first, no background image appears in the installer, which is okay.
