Summary: Regression: Wine Gecko install hits an unhandled page
fault
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.35.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: rm.riches(a)verizon.net
This appears to be a regression from 0.9.34 to 0.9.35. Wine Gecko installer
goes to 'installing', stays there for several seconds, then Wine blows up with
an unhandled page fault.
Application is PAF (Personal Ancestral File) 5. Application installation and
initial use appear to work fine. When clicking on the yellow question mark at
the top of the window (the help button), the help panel comes up properly. A
dialog box comes up asking to install Wine Gecko, which downloads and switches
to "installing" in the dialog box. The hourglass next to the mouse cursor
pointer icon flickers for a few seconds, then it stops for a few more seconds,
then Wine blows away with an unhandled page fault.
The help function didn't start being usable at all until Wine 0.9.32. With Wine
versions 0.9.32, 0.9.33, and 0.9.34, Wine Gecko would install and give at least
some level of help functionality.
AppDB page for application version is
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=1706
I'll try to attach a text dump showing the unhandled page fault.

console running wine Gw.exe, winver 98
More info:
wine 0.9.35 on gentoo amd64, including the console output gwlog.txt attached.
If there's other logs useful, polease tell me where to find them.
And oops, apology. I didn't check very well before. I only seem to get this
error emulating the recommended win98. Changing to XP or 2000 things still
don't work well, but at least they sort of start.

Summary: 3D object drawn differently using fglrx compared to mesa
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.35.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wine(a)enzerink.net
In Galactic Civilizations II there are spaceships drawn using lots of textured
facets. These appear to draw correctly, albeit slowly, when using mesa but only
a few fragments are drawn using fglrx driver.
Debug output when using fglrx driver shows never ending error:
fixme:d3d_draw:drawStridedFast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 0x502 from glDrawRangeElements
@ drawprim.c / 427
I'll attach screendumps showing the problem but the relay log to the point when
the issue is demonstrated is > 500MB and almost 10MB compressed, so I won't
attach that for now!

Possible Solution:
Comparing the arguments of the functions i recognized that there is a comma
missing in the winsock error-message between the count and WS_sockaddr variable.
Take a look at the error message:
trace:winsock:WS2_send fd 127, iovec 0x10acde98, count 1 addr { family 2,
address 85.25.143.131, port 21000 }, len 16, flags 0
function header in socket.c:
static int WS2_send( int fd, struct iovec* iov, int count, const struct
WS_sockaddr *to, INT tolen, DWORD dwFlags )
Trying to find a solution for this ...

In current git the installer from the DVD version finishes but it creates a Call
of Duty 2 folder under Programs/Activision/Call of Duty 2 with only the Docs
folder underneath. The actual game executables and other files are missing.
After trying to run the installer a 2nd time I get a dialog box error.
