Also, my linux-based browsers work just fine, as do windows-based browsers when they're run from a windows box. I'm really not an expert on this stuff though ---I'm reading about transparent proxies now, but I don't know how to configure one. You mentioned that the missing stuff should be fixed. There's a lot of missing stuff, some of which is presumably irrelevant to this problem (e.g. linux/ucdrom.h) but I have no idea what most of it does, or where to get it. The Firefox 2.x works fine here. Could you check if you have any firewall configurations on your box or your router?
