I also have no problem with starting NeoTrace but when I enter a hostname it
crashes. That's because it send a TB_GETBUTTONINFOA with a cbSize of 563 and the
text pointer pointing to user32 code (when running on Windows XP the cbSize is
something around 2000000). It works with native because the message is ignored
if the cbSize is invalid. I've send a patch to wine-patches that adds a similar
behaviour to Wine.

Ok, I found the problem... There was an old rpm version of wine installed. I
uninstalled it, then ran wine --version, it gave me 0.9.34. Then I went into
installation directory of wine-0.9.34 ran #make uninstalled then ran #make
install. After tat ran $wineprefixcreate and $winecfg. Everything seemed to go
smoothly, but the game goes to the same criticall error as I posted before in
the attachment called "popup_window". Do I have to clean out everything
invluding ~/.wine directory and to compile and install everything from scratch?

Not as I remember of. I started with installing 0.9.30, it did not work well,
then I found bug report that suggested to use patched wine version 0.9.18 and
switched to it. Did not achieve much either. Then I downloaded the latest one -
0.9.34. Now I have no clue why I get version number 0.9.11 :(

In the first place the messages like "Missing glyph for char 0020" are not
the bugs unless you have an application that attempts to use a character
that is missing in the font. In that case you have to specify what exactly
the missing character is.
Some points:
1. bitmap font generation in Wine does depend on fontforge being installed,
and fontforge version should be recent enough to be able generate correct
Windows format bitmap fonts.
2. FreeType versions prior 2.1.9 have broken/incomplete support for Windows
format bitmap fonts, Wine disables bitmap font support if it detects an older
FreeType version.
I'm going to close this bug, if you have a real problem that is not caused
by the reasons listed above please open a new bug.

Could someone please verify whether the behavior described in comment #23 is a result of this bug? If the
behavior is not a result of this bug, could you either log a new bug or just let me know so that I can log a
bug on it?
