But two favors, please: 1) never run applications as root. Never. It bypasses system security and could endanger your system's health. 2) Don't paste logs into bug reports. You can't just disable vertex shaders and expect anything to work. You forcing HL2 into what's called dxlevel 60 mode - which is buggy and doesn't work. What if you force it into dxlevel 70?
