Looks like another bug in oleaut32. With following workaround the next window comes up just fine: 1. Copy scrrun.dll to system32, and do regsvr32 scrrun.dll 2. I chowned it to <username>:disk, and what do you know, it started working. I must however make udev choose another group for the loopdevices, not comfortable with having the user with full write access to the raw disks, funky stuff can happen then.
