Hm, I guess we can fix the long wait by setting the SO_REUSEADDR flag. I'll look
into this.

Check SELinux aka AppArmor configuration. It's probably has extra limits not
compatible with Wine. In particular "max memory size" should be at least 2GB (or
unlimited) for Wine.

Please remove/rename ~/.wine dir and install your program as normal user. If you
ran it once as root, your Wine configuration is "contaminated" and non-functional.
If it still fails, please install dcom98 ( http://wiki.winehq.org/NativeDcom )
and try again.

What video card and drivers version? Did you enabled GLSL? What is
OffscreenRenderingMode set to? (see http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys)
Did you ran it full-screen or in virtual-desktop?
Attach output of glxinfo.

Summary: CS:S dxlevel 80/81/90 black screen
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.37.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: steffen-trekki(a)web.de
If I try to start CS:S with something else then "dxlevel 70" I will get a black
screen instead of the main menu.
But it seems, that the main menu works, because if I move the mouse courser to
this position where the menu is (start game, options etc.) then I hear this
"clicking".

Summary: preloader Problems
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.37.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: pdluke(a)freenet.de
Getting warning when starting wine.
"preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000"
This issue is causing problems in some applications,
like the "cannot click npc"-bug in WoW.
I've tested various versions.
Only versions above 0.9.29 have this problem, so the latest Version is affected,
too.
Only version 0.9.29 and lower works fine.
I'm using openSuSE 10.2 with Kernel 2.6.18.
1GB RAM, 1.6Ghz Intel Centrino Duo, ATI Mobility Radean X1600
hope this report helps

WORKAROUND:
If one makes a symlink to the iso in ~/.wine/dosdevices/d::(at the same time
have a symlink to the mount point at ~/.wine/dosdevices/d:) it works in both
0.9.37 and the current git. Although it stops at the end asking for the cd
Labeled "Fable Disk 1" again. If I Bail the installation there, the game works,
with a few dll's(mfc42.dll and d3dx9_25.dll) copied in from a windows
installation.
