WINSPOOL.DRV: Preliminary fix for Bug #8475
This eliminates the issue, by setting the first printer loaded from CUPS as the
default if printers were found but none of them was reported as the default
one.
This also fixes Bug #8476. Beware of Bug #4097, though.
Is this patch OK? On a side note, my manager here suggested that Wine should
favor local printers when automatically choosing the default printer when CUPS
doesn't tell it there's one. But something tells me that wouldn't be exactly
the way Windows does this. Any thoughts?

Summary: Upon starting, Platinum ERwin 3.5.2 thinks there's no
printer installed if there is no default printer
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: inckie(a)gmail.com
Platinum ERwin 3.5.2 relies on the fact that Windows always selects a printer as
default, even if the user doesn't specify one.
To reproduce the bug, you just have to not have (!) any default printers in
CUPS, and then launch ERwin. When you go to File > Print Setup, you'll see that
the Printer combo box has a blank first line that is selected by default (see
Bug #8475). You can then select a valid installed printer and it will print
normally, though.
The first attachment to Bug #8475 fixes this issue. Beware, however, of Bug #4097.

Summary: Platinum BPwin 2.5 can't print if no printer is set as
the default
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: inckie(a)gmail.com
In order do reproduce this bug, just fire up BPwin, open or create a new
project, and click File > Print. Try printing, and BPWin will just stay still.
If you go to File > Print Setup, you'll see that the Printer combo box has a
blank first line that is selected by default. However, no matter which printer
you select from it, it will still try to print with that blank default and get
stuck.
I'd happily give a link to a demo version, if I had it; the only trial I have
access to is version 7.5...

Paul, try with a fresh wine source tree (or at least make distclean)...

Well of course it doesn't. I was just responding to this earlier comment:
> Curious that the bug only hits people on dual core athlons.
