Summary: winealsa does not allow selecting which sequencers to
use
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.38.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-multimedia
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: shacklein(a)gmail.com
The winealsa driver seems to only open the "default" sequencer device for MIDI
support, even though winecfg correctly detects all input and output devices.
This is a particular problem for me as I have a soundcard from the Audigy family
and the default sequencer device is the external midi (I'm guessing on gameport,
but don't have a MIDI device to test it with right now). I'd like to be able to
tell Wine to use the EMU10K1 Wavetable (soundfont) sequencer, but it does not
seem possible.

well this is really disappointing. I went through a whole bunch of patches and
didn't find the one causing this error and now for some reason 0.9.38 works with
steam.

Looks perfectly here. And it did look correct for as long as I remember. Can you
rename ~/.wine dir, install older Wine version and reinstall steam? (steam
doesn't start with 0.9.38 - see bug 8572)

For some reason, Wine is not displaying the corner graphics from Steam's default
skin. This occurs even immediately after a clean install.
This makes checkboxes completely invisible, as seen in the linked image.
Distro: Kubuntu 7.10 64-bit (alpha-20070604).
Wine: Git 2007-06-04
