This feature should work on all desktop environments.
It's unfair to say Gnome is bad, because it is not.
Well, maybe this is a Wine bug, maybe a Gnome bug.
Who knows? :)

oah, damn cryptic devs, I was mislead. uTorrent detects OS type, and on >=XP
uses different flags. But that doesnt change the fact that same program works
ok on windows98 without weird black areas.
