Got it narrowed down, but I won't be able to finish until this afternoon. To
save time, it's between here:
55d70e894cd70f69d313771e8f5dedd56cce4bc0
and here
98934f20d8149ad93355e86d8a5f0a96b57678e9
But I'm pretty sure it's going to be
55d70e894cd70f69d313771e8f5dedd56cce4bc0.
Try compiling right before that commit, and after that commit. (It's parent is
f9b0dac9f55ed876a0438450b3140e4f551870a8)

Well, I forgot that I have this already installed. So it's not surprising that
this works for you.
After I applied truikens stub patch, the installer worked and I saw the usual,
modify, repair, remove dialog.

I can duplicate this bug in 0.9.40 by following the AppDB HOWTO with unpatched
code. 0.9.42 seems to have yet another regression, which prevents SupCom from
recognizing MSVCP80 and MSVCR80. I never downloaded .41, so I can't test it.

After reading the report again it can be a driver bug (or an old wine bug).
Where we are asking for GLX extensions not supported on older drivers. Lots of
bugs in that area have been fixed. Unless I get any protests I assume the issue
is over.
