Actually I am using kubuntu feisty fawn and wine 0.9.40 and the problem still
persists.
It may depend too on the screen resolution, maybe because you use a high
resolution the dialog appears far from the main window. Try to move the midle of
the confirmation dialog over the main window and see if the confirmation dialog
comes to top when you click it. If not, is that the problem still persists and
your case is a chance.

Summary: Winecfg crashes on the Audio tab (0.9.40)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.40.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: krop(a)free.fr
Hello,
I'm using a kubuntu Feisty distribution and the latest 0.9.40 package.
Today I launched winecfg and after clicking on the audio tab, a message
indicating that «arts» was not available and asked to remove it from the
registry (This is not the cause of the crash but it looks kinda strange since
I'm using KDE and arts .
After that, I checked ALSA and winecfg crashed.
I made another try deleting the .reg files and running winecfg again, this time
it crashed after unchecking the OSS box.
Note that checking or unchecking slows down my computer.
I attach the console output and a winedbg output.

Patch to add more traces
Hi Misha,
Could you apply this patch (while leaving my last one in place), re-run your
test and post a new log. It simply adds a bit more tracing.
Thanks.

Hi. I am using Wine .39 version. i have an MIS System developed in Visual Basic.
It works perfectly fine in Windows but when i try to run it from Wine, it gives
the following error:-

I tried tracing as to where the error gets generated and found that, it gives an
error when m creating an object of a class module.
Could you please tell me why this is happening ?

I have exactly the same problem (I believe every Delta Force game has this
problem). I tried changing the port in game.cfg to no avail:
mpgateserverlocalportmin = "80"
mpgateserverlocalportmax = "80"

Kent, this bug is about the *installer*. Update to Wine 0.9.40. Remove your
.wine prefix, don't install anything native (DCOM). As Austin said, the
installer works fine; the app still crashes. If that is the case, a new bug
needs to be opened, as this bug is fixed.

Added the test case to user32/test/dialog
I tested this patch under windows XP and it passed the tests properly.
If someone wants to submit this stuff for me, go right ahead (I am not on the
patch,devel lists)
