Jaime wrote in wine-users:
"This program use to work until Wine 0.9.21 but from
0.9.22 it haven't worked anymore."
So I guess somebody needs to search for the
patch that caused the regression. See
http://www.winehq.org/docs/en/winedev-guide.html#AEN1348

Ok I think the problem you are describing should be fixed in current git. The
dead zone was not calculated properly, hence the problem you are seeing.

I have same problem, too, but only with Valve logo (video). The video is
unbeliveably slow, and it uses only the part of the screen (center aligned,
it's resultion is exactly what you set in the game), after the video, the
resolution will be changed, and fits the screen.

Thanks, I verify the problem is fixed! :)
Now only the aforementioned "hanging before the menu screen" problem remains.
Since it is a separate bug, should I open a new report?

Created an attachment (id=7615)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=7615)
patch
With this patch (that works correctly for single-byte charsets) the dialog
works. (Photoshop hung when I tried to close but that's probably a different
thing). Tomorrow I'll write a correct patch that works also for multibyte
charsets.

Er, I just _said_ version .43. Twice, I think.
And yes, I'm using FBO. I'll try without it.
Update: With fbo disabled, this new error vanishes, but I still can't even
reach the menu screen anymore because the err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection
thing I pasted gets in the way at different points. Might it be because I'm on
a dual-core system? Is there any way to run wine on one core only?

It is available in Photoshop CS in File > Automate > Photomerge. For me the
dialog shows but when you choose a file I get:
wine: Call from 0x7b83f810 to unimplemented function msvcrt.dll._mbsbtype,
aborting
And the Photoshop hangs.
