I forgot commenting game freezing only happens when using regular Xorg:
character selection is correctly made within Xgl (though sound and movement are
choppier this way).

OK, sorry, I wasn't sure how one (and who) should use the dependency tree.
As for why I though it should be removed, see my comment in the bug 9029. The
bug isn't directly related to this bug in any way, except that there is a
program that is affected by both bugs (if you solve bug #4437, bug #9029 still
remains, and vice versa, most probably). But it's the devs mileage that matters
(I don't know how to code at all so I wouldn't know), if it helps it's in the
dependency tree then leave it there, by all means =)

I remember what game it was now: Lego star wars 2. I'll open a new bug for
this crash, as i quickly checked that it doesn't happen in wine-0.9.26, and it
does happen in wine-0.9.28

Yeah, i saw this a few times while testing a game (damn, i forgot which one,
i'll try to remember which one it was). After that, i had to wait about 10
minutes for the backtrace to appear, and it crashed in fglrx. This seems really
ATI-specific problem. Could you post the backtrace (maybe you have to wait 10
minutes for it to appear)

I upgraded my ATI drivers and ...... forgot I was using Xgl :-P, so I turned
back to standard Xorg and found that:
1) Movement is much more smooth (though it is still choppy). So, I could admit
it's because of those crappy drivers.
2) Sound still stutters (though somewhat softier). I don't know why.
Now right when I choose a character to play with, the game freezes and the
following appears:
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x000003b4 at address 0x7dd3a650
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x000003b4 in 32-bit code
(0x7dd3a650).
This happens even when I tried several settings (both graphics and sound).
Anyone else experiencing this?

--- Comment #7 from Vitaliy Margolen <vitaliy(a)kievinfo.com> 2007-08-15 14:36:20 ---
Why did you remove bug 9029 from "blocks" list? You said yourself, that you
_have to use_ native msvcrt for the game to work. So this bug _blocks_ any
other bugs, related to the game. Use of native dlls is a workaround and not a
solution.
