By the way, I submitted this simple patch (attached here) at the time to the wine-patches and wine-devel mailing lists, and it was one of the many ones ignored without any response. I haven't any motivation left to continue the near-hopeless fight. The corrections are quite simple, and the corresponding place in winex11.drv/window.c has not changed very much.
