> Still need the regression test.
I have attempted to do the regression test today, and can only report that the
regression test itself appears to be broken.
Here's what I did (on an Ubuntu 8.04 AMD64 system), following the instructions
from http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting :
--------------------------------------------
sudo apt-get install git-core
sudo apt-get install ccache
sudo apt-get build-dep wine wine-dev
cd ~/tmp
mkdir wine
cd wine
git clone git://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git wine-git
cd wine-git
git bisect start
# Note the version 0.9.43 number came from my best guess of when it worked,
based on other people's comments in this bug.
git bisect good wine-0.9.43
git bisect bad wine-1.0
CC="gcc-4.2 -m32" LDFLAGS="-L/lib32 -L/usr/lib32 -L`pwd`/lib32
-Wl,-rpath,/lib32 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib32" ./configure -v
make depend
make
mv ~/.wine ~/.wine-backup
------------------------------------------------------------
Everything went fine up to this point.
Then attempt to install it:
./wine /cdrom/myobapp/mplus10/Setup.exe
... And after a minute or so get this error dialog box:
"MYOB Accounting Plus v10.0.2
Setup failed to launch installation engine: (0x80040154)

On the console it says:

Clicking the "OK" button causes the setup program to exit. I.e. I cannot see a
way to setup the program to actually get to the bit I want to test.
[re the tab switching problem]
> File a new bug.
Logged now as bug 16459. For people trying to use MYOB on Wine, you are
probably going to run into tab switching problem too (as well as this printing
problem).

Summary: CJK characters are displayed as squares when browsing
files
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: fonts
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dkeehl(a)gmail.com
I have many files with Chinese/Japanese file names.
With wine 1.0, I made font links in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink],
and they were displayed properly.
But now, with wine 1.1,this method seems not to work any more.
All those characters become squares.

I installed cdarchitect52c_enu.exe, which is the non-trial version (I own the
windows versions of SoundForge 9 / CD Architect)
Install runs ok, but when running the app I cant register, the console says :
fixme:wininet:InternetAttemptConnect Stub
fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_TIMEOUT
(20000): STUB
And the app immediately says that the internet connection timed out.
So I cancelled the automatic registration and selected 'Register from another
computer'.
After entering that Activation Code the app continues start up but crashes part
way through :
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xff01000f at address 0x1002ac0
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
I'll try and gather more information and add it to this bug.

Refresher: Myob11 wouldn't work using Fedora 6, just real buggy, tended to
crash, anything deeper than top-level window stuff wouldn't print. Windows
with tabs would not usually allow selecting the tabs, etc... Fedora 8 came
along, I upgraded as the F8 fanclub was making out F8 being the next best thing
to invention of the wheel. I tried Myob11 on it and it worked! I was able to
install all the old data from the windows system. We were able to input
receivables, create invoices, print stuff, do the bank stuff, tax stuff, etc...
The accountant was using it and happy. This honeymoon lasted about 1 month.
Then... First-off it wouldn't print Invoices, just a blank page, I thought I
had a bad printer. Then I realized there were other issues with the tabs on
some windows didn't work. Some of the bank info wasn't accessible. The
accountant now refuses to use Linux for anything but letters, email and
solitaire. I told her tough, get used to Linux because this place isn't going
back to M$, period. I've installed several other accounting programs made for
Linux, but she still hasn't decided to take the effort to learn them, she's
holding out for MYOB. I'm not set up for, nor do I understand how to do
regression testing. Wouldn't know what to do if I found something, either. I
really don't care how much trouble Linux is or how little how understand
it...there is no way in hell we are going back to M$, even if we have to send
all our accounting out to a service.
So, yeah, it sure would be nice if you geniuses could figure out why it
wouldn't then why it did and then why it won't work anymore!!
If it makes a difference, we use a network printer, hp L7780. System that
needs to use MYOB is running Mepis 7 and system used for testing various new
software from repos is running Lenny.

Hello,
thanks, but there is no point in providing logs.
Show stoppers are known, partly covered by .NET 3.5 bug 10547.
Missing "BITS" bits (comment #8) and pidgen stub dll
(http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=16508).
Follow up is wintrust (.inf file signature validation).
The _SFX_CAB_SHUTDOWN_REQUEST workaround will be most likely part of later
winetricks recipe until wine properly supports FILE_ATTRIBUTE_HIDDEN.
Regards

Created an attachment (id=17816)

PoP with fbo
Attached is a PoP snapshot with fbo enabled. This looks slightly better but the
vertical/horizontal "extensions" of some objects are still there. Everything's
also quite nondeterministic; on some starts of the game the whole background is
red etc. - quite a surrealistic experience ;).

I think the bugs aren't related to vertex shaders, more to post processing
effects. By default WineD3D uses the back buffer for offscreen rendering
because FBO support is still buggy in Wine and the drivers. However, this can
lead to corruptions like these. If AUX buffers are available they are used,
fixing most of the problems. However, fglrx doesn't support aux buffers.
The best fix for this is to use FBOs
instead(HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Direct3D/offscreenRenderingMode = "fbo") and
fix all fbo related bugs.

On MYOB v16, printing of reports and lists DOES work. (You need to have your
cups / wine sorted out as for any other windows app to print)
Printing of forms uses a different engine inside MYOB, and does NOT work. You
can't print invoices, POs, statements, or any other form, either standard or
customised.
Based on yonnie's post it appears it used to work, someone needs to do the
testing of prior versions (regression testing) and find out when it broke, or
if it ever really did work.
This bug needs to focus on fixing the forms printing problem...
> Louis Lenders
> I can see the problem, yeah. Looks like a bug in wine's printing code.
> Maybe one of the printerguys (Detkef ?) could have a look
For other MYOB issues, please search for other bugs.
Given that the primary purpose of MYOB is recording sales and printing invoices
to get money, it's pretty much unuseable if forms printing doesn't work, making
this a show stopper bug for MYOB use. That in turn stops a lot of small
businesses from switching to Linux. Their other needs are well met by
openoffice, firefox and thunderbird. MYOB is the only other thing they run.
