Hi,
I've just tested this app in 1.1.10 and the error produced is:
wine: Cannot start DOS application "Z:\\home\\matthew\\Wine Sandbox\\Dos
Navigator\\dn151\\DN.PRG"
because vm86 mode is not supported on this platform.
Which i'm guessing is because i'm running Ubuntu x86_64, can someone running a
32bit OS test it please.
Also, i've checked and i have libx86 installed, which claims to provide vm86.
Any ideas why its not integrating itself into wine?

Summary: WC3 - invisible chat
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jsfrerot(a)egliseespoir.com
This problem have been seen on the whole wine 1.1.x series using Ubuntu 8.04
and 8.10
When playing any multi-player game of Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne (BNET or Local
Area Network) Players using wine can't see chat from other players using wine
and in a random way can't see chat coming from normal windows client.
To reproduce the problem, start a multi-player game with to clients using wine.
For invisible chat from real windows, start a 5v5 game and you won't be able to
see chat from a random number players for the whole game (when you don't see
the chat for one player, it's always the same player you'll have problem with
for the whole game). But starting a new game it may be from different users.

(valid for Catalyst/fglrx 8.11 and Wine 1.1.10)
"Extension 'GL_ARB_draw_buffers' is not supported" is bogus:
GL_ARB_draw_buffers IS supported and works.
"The GLSL vertex shader will run in hardware"/"Fragment shader was successfully
compiled to run on hardware" seem to be debug messages from the driver and can
be ignored. For details see
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.wine.user/36670 .
Vertex shaders seem not to work properly leading to major screen corruption in
Fallout 3 and Prince of Persia and probably many other games.

(In reply to comment #7)
You again keep pointing to kernel. Wine returns exactly what was returned from
kernel. If that's not what windows does - or what the device called - then it's
the kernel bug.

Summary: Wine install - NO config option in Kmenu??
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.10
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: Makitk(a)gmail.com
On Kubuntu 8.04 (x64bit), a fresh installation of Wine 1.1.10 does NOT create a
Kmenu entry with the Wine configuration options.
How can I configure Wine now beyond using wineconfig in the terminal which
doesn't have nearly as much options available as the gui option?
I say again: Fresh install -> no Kmenu entry. No Kmenu submenu, no Kmenu
nothing.

I have been trying to give feed back on a different bug relating to a dual CPU
machine and polling for joystick devices (bug 8765).
Due to this problem, I am still having to patch the wine sources. I spent some
more time looking at exactly what was taking place in the kernel, and I believe
that the problem is not with the joydev.c, but rather it is with the hid
devices:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/aegl/linux-2.6.git;a=blob;f=drive…
I don't think this is a bug with either wine or with the kernel, however, the
short answer is that I need to "hack" wine before I can get this game to run.
It would not surprise me if other people had similar experiences.
At this point, a possible solution would be to add mapping functionality, so
that the device name returned by the kernel can be mapped to a different
identifier without requiring source code change.
Is something like this feasible?
