Output
Hello,
I am using Wine 0.9.58 (max Wine version here shows 0.9.57). I've tried to play
the racing game Flatout. Everything looks perfect - except for shadows. Shadow
of my own car is drawn properly, but other car's shadows are nothing but a
black square on the ground.
The game is set to use Triple Buffering - I've chosen this on the first screen.
However, I don't know how to choose it without triple buffering - this screen
is not coming up again. The settings are not stored in the game's directory,
because on Cedega this screen showed up.
On cedega, game runs flawlessly, except the load time is much longer.
I will have to give the game back to my friend soon, if I'll figure out how to
disable triple buffering (because I think this may be causing the trouble),
I'll post it here.
Removing .wine directory didn't help at all. The game still runs PERFECTLY, but
with the shadow issue. And, Flatout 2 demo works perfect. They should compile
these games with winelib.
PS. The output is quite long (92KB).
My system:
Fedora 8
1GB RAM
Celeron 3GHZ and GeForce 8600GT
Wine 0.9.58
GNOME
Cheers!

Terminal output when executing wine iexplore
On earlier versions (e.g. 0.9.46), wine iexplore used to work fine. But with at
least wine versions 0.9.55 and 0.9.56 it crashes under Kubuntu 7.10 x86_64. All
my programs are up to date.
Uninstalling wine 0.9.56 and installing wine 0.9.46 (Ubuntu default) makes it
work correctly.

Summary: xf86-input-keyboard trouble with (probably) direct input
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.52.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: liquid.acid(a)gmx.net
Hi there,
I just noticed that keyboard input in Half-Life doesn't seem to work for me.
I'm currently using wine version 0.9.52, but already tried to downgrade to
0.9.51, 0.9.50 and 0.9.49. That does not fix the problem. But I knew that
0.9.49 wasn't giving me this problem when previously playing Half-Life on this
system.
So the problem had to be somewhere else. Because it was keyboard related and I
updated the xorg-server recently, also updating xf86-input-keyboard I suspect
this to be the keyboard driver.
What exactly is the problem?
I have a german keyboard (QWERTZ layout) and the last keyboard row above the
row where the space key is, is giving me problem.
On this row are the keys ...,Y,X,C,V,B,N,M,...
Now these keys work fine when working on the console and in Xfce. When using
Half-Life the keys seem to be somehow remapped.
Pressing Y outputs a X, pressing X gives me a C, C -> V, etc.
This does only apply to this special row of the keyboard. My friend who was
using wine-0.9.52 the day I first experienced this does not have this kind of
problems. He was using xf86-input-keyboard-1.1.1 this day. I have another
desktop machine which also has version 1.1.1 of the keyboard driver installed
and also does not show the problem.
My friend currently updates the keyboard driver to 1.2.2 (the version I'm
using) to reproduce the problem.
A few further informations. My current XkbLayout is "de", there the problem
appears. When changing the layout to "en" the problem is gone, no remapping
occurs there.
This problem does not appear when using some standard win32 gui applications,
so I suspect this to related to direct input (AFAIK Half-Life uses this).
I'm also going to file a report on the gentoo bugzilla, because of a possible
input-keyboard regression.
Bye,
Tobias

crash output when ALT+TABing away from atDesktop window
The application installs fine, but does not start properly.
Attempting to start the application results in a screen resize (expected) and a
new window entitled "atDesktop" at this point the application appears to be
completely hung.
Switching to another window via ALT+TAB results in a page fault (trace
attached). Then two more windows are created, both entitled "Signin 2002" but
none of the windows have any display and can not be closed.
At this point a "wineserver -k" appears to be needed.

Output of "wine Madden08.exe", the program's launcher
Recently added Madden NFL 08 to the AppDB, I was able to get it to install with
some native DLLs, now I'm trying to run it.
The application's "launcher" does not display, only a couple of the buttons
show up (Readme, FAQ, Uninstall) when you roll over them, and the Play/Exit
buttons do not show up.
Running the "mainapp.exe" which is the actual game executable, it crashes with
a dsound error and then unhandled page fault.
Running mainapp.exe with a native dsound.dll stops the dsound error and seems
to get a little farther (but not much farther) and crashes with a segmentation
fault.
I've attached a log of the launcher run, the builtin dsound.dll run, and the
native dsound.dll run.

Summary: Rayman 3 Demo doesn't shows 'loading' screens

Rayman 3 Demo shows white screen (totally - excluding top black frame
(unrelated bug)) which blank to gray and then again white..
Looks like back buffer/front buffer flipping.
After several flips there is a main menu of the game (in 3d, working correctly)
It broke at 8b42238b5b420d4ae13f863b3a8db70ccf143cca
user32: Cache the window class name on the client side.
(I have found that commit via git bisect)
Before that it showed (after one bad white 'flip') a picture and a progress bar
at top of the screen (so we can see clearly a game is loading)
